The 76ers and Celtics are geared up to start the season.
The Philadelphia 76ers finished last season with a record of 52-30 and 3rd place in the Eastern Conference. Although they made the playoffs and cruised by the Miami Heat, they were swiftly eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the East Semifinals 4-1. As of now they are still in preseason with a record of 3-1. To no one’s surprise power forward Joel Embiid is leading his team as they prepare to start the season. He is averaging 21.4 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. His most productive teammate is Ben Simmons who is averaging 7.7 assists and 1.7 steals.
On the other hand the Boston Celtics were 2nd in the Eastern Conference last season with a record of 55-27. After pushing through the 76ers they went on to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East Finals and lost 4-3. They got through the preseason with a 1-4 record but expect more from them starting on Tuesday. Small Forward Jayson Tatum is the current leading scorer with an average of 18.5 points per game. Al Horford is pulling down an average of 8.3 rebounds and blocking 1.2 shots per game. Terry Rozier is averaging 5.7 assists and Marcus Smart is getting 1.7 steals.
