“As long as it is equitable,” Jacobs related of changing his contract again. “I simply need all to be equitable. I think a bit like I put plenty of difficult work and dedication into what I do as well and whatever their plans are to try and preserve me around here, hopefully we are able to get it debated and get things figured out because here is where I would like to be.”

“I wish issues can go excellent to where I will continue to be a Giant,” he claimed. “I started with the Giants; I want to finish with them.”

“As a franchise, they have been doing this stuff for years and they know what they have to do if they would like to keep me around and really I’d like to be around,” he continued. “I need to retire as a Giant. Those fellows have been working in the business long ample to know what they have to do to make it happen.”

Jacobs dashed for 571 yards – his lowest rushing total since his 2nd season (2006) in the league – and 7 touchdowns this past season.

He missed 2 games because of a knee wound and only received 5 more carries than he did the season before.

Jacobs, though, feels fresh and stated that he goes into the offseason not requiring any kind of surgical treatment.

“I don’t need any offseason work,” he claimed. “I feel just like a newborn baby. (The Giants trainers) do a fine job of looking after their players. I feel excellent right now.”

Jacobs as well said he was encouraged by what he saw from the Giants running game as the season progressed. While the Giants finished last in rushing in the NFL in the regular season, the team gained a total of 100 yards or even more in 4 of the last 5 regular season games and surged for a total of 172 yards towards Atlanta Hawks in the wild card win.

“As a team, (we) had a couple of different players on the line that we didn’t truly know, as backs, what their strong points and what’s their weak points and where you are going and how they get there and a lot of other things,” Jacobs declared. “Things started coming together for us at the end of the season. Whatever occurs next year, I suspect we’re going to be far better in that classification.”
