Irsay said that permanence of Manning with the Colts depends on the player

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay mind to meet up with quarterback Peyton Manning within the next week but is leaving the door open for Manning to remain with the Colts. Basketball Betting

“We desire this to be his selection,” Irsay said. “We want him back if he would like to come back. We can work out the contract if he wants to work it out. It will be Peyton’s call.”

The Colts owe the 35-year-old Manning a $28 million bonus by March 8 that will activate the last 4 years of his contract. But there’re worries over Manning’s readiness to play in the NFL again. Manning has experienced 3 neck surgeries and is still attempting to regenerate the nerve in his neck and get back strength in his right triceps muscle and throwing arm. Baseball Betting

If the Colts reject to pay Manning his compensation, he turns an unrestricted independent agent.

“It’s a 2-pronged thing,” Irsay said. “The 1st is if or when the nerve regenerates and whether it enables him to play at a high level. But I always desire Peyton to understand the risk-rewards regarding playing. We want to make sure he comprehends the long term aspects of his health in trying to play.”

The 4-time league MVP missed the whole 2011 season after having his 3rd neck surgery in 19 months, a mix of 2 backbones. His doctors have medically cleared him to restart his career and Manning has been throwing and working out at Duke University.

Manning has said he is recovering strength, but Irsay said that Manning has not yet passed the team’s physical.

Irsay has set up a background in which Manning could return. Former Colts quarterback coach Bruce Arians, who was liked by Manning during Arians’ time in Indianapolis, was employed by new head coach Chuck Pagano as offensive coordinator. Also, Pagano kept quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen, who also has a good relationship with Manning.

If Manning desires to remain, Irsay claimed they could get a financial way to get it to work.

“We can work out the contract if he wants to come back,” Irsay said. “We want him to make the call. He’s earned that. We want him to have the likelihood of finishing his career here if that’s what he wants to do.”

Manning knows the Colts plan to draft a quarterback with the 1st pick in the draft, either Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III, and sources asserted that he’s open to an incentive-laden deal in which he might be paid no warranted money up front and he would have to earn each cent he makes exactly through works.

Irsay recounted that he would firmly consider such a contract if Manning wants to remain with the Colts.

“It’s going to be Peyton’s call,” Irsay announced.

Manning has broken all of Indianapolis’ career records for quarterbacks and hadn’t missed a start before last season. He is taken the Colts to the playoffs 11 times, captured 7 AFC South titles in 8 years, won 2 AFC championships, 1 Super Bowl title and a super Bowl MVP Award.
