Hollywoodsportsbook.com chooses 21-Year-Old Man Arrested for Playing Football among Boys as its newest "Gambler of the Week"
Sept 1, 2010 San Jose, Costa Rica… Hollywoodsportsbook.com, a leading online gaming site for over 12 years, has selected 21-Year-Old Julious Javone Threatts who was arrested for playing football in a boys youth league as its "Gambler of the Week."
Robert Evans, Hollywood's Director of Operations says "Mr. Threatts really, really wanted to play football for the Tampa Fl. Town 'N Country Packers Pop Warner team but at 21 he was just a tad too old, so he changed his name to Chad Jordan and shaved seven years off his birthday so the league officials would think he was only 14."
"Now I will admit he looks younger than he really is and maybe could have pulled this off another year but trying to cheat Father Time for grid iron glory is new low in football player screw-ups" says Evans. "I certainly don't condone what he did but the fact is many times I wish I could go back to my Cranston, Rhode Island, High School hockey team and show those kids I still got the goods too, but the fact is this is a 21-year-old criminal taking athletic advantage by competing against 14-year-olds and Thank God he never hurt anyone. I just hope that like his namesake, he was just a "threat" on the field rather than the streets" continues Evans.
But the reason we chose him as our "Gambler of the Week" is not that he pulled it off for 2 years but for the fact that he created a lengthy e-mail sent to all TBYFL coaches from an alleged scout at the high school recruiting service Rivals.com stating that said "Chad Jordan" was "a very special prospect" who "hasn't signed" but has "offers from USC, Texas and Florida." The email included quotes and lengthy statistics. Now that's' taking a gamble… faking documents and emails to further his career.
Steve Levinson, president of the football league, said Threatts played last year, trained again during the spring and then joined the Tampa Bay league at the beginning of this season. [He] turned in all the necessary registration paperwork, including a copy of his birth certificate, which officials now realize must have been fakes. Duh!
It's Threatts' sixth arrest. His first came when he was really 14. "He duped everyone," Levinson said.
"As Hollywood's "Gambler of the Week", Mr. Threatts will receive a $500 wagering account which they hope he can parlay into some big money to pay his legal fees and maybe a fake Heisman Trophy" Evans concludes.
